Simply wind your yarn in the one-inch recessed space, count the wraps, check the enclosed chart and you have an approximate weight / gauge for your yarn. It also comes in handy if you misplace the band that came with your yarn. A great tool for spinners as well, make sure you are consistent with your spinning.
Cocobolo – Central South America – Coloring ranges from yellow, orange, red and shades of brown with streaks of black or purple. Sapwood is typically a very pale yellow. Darkens with age and as well from the oils from your skin.
I turn each WPI to show the best characteristics of the wood. Even though the recessed part of each is the same one-inch space, each one will very in design.
